NATION : Private Rites for Malcolm Forbes
NEW YORK — A private memorial service was held today for publisher Malcolm Forbes at an undisclosed place in New Jersey with only his family and a few close friends attending.
Don Garson, a spokesman for Forbes magazine, said the private service will be followed by a public memorial service at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York on Thursday morning. He said about 500 Forbes employes are expected to be in attendance.
The 70-year-old multimillionaire died Saturday of heart failure at his northern New Jersey estate. He had been in excellent health, according to his physician, and had just returned from taking part in an international bridge competition in London.
