Jorgensens Take First in Sailing
Tom and Doug Jorgensen of Los Angeles Yacht Club took an early lead in their bid for the Los Angeles Times yachting trophy Sunday, winning their division in the Performance Handicap Racing Fleet competition around Catalina Island. They were co-skippers in a J-35 sloop Diablo.
The six-race Times Series is sailed in conjunction with LAYC’s Whitney Series for the International Offshore Rule (IOR) division, the Little Whitney Series for the Midget Ocean Racing Class, and the Todd Pacific Series for small PHRF yachts.
