Training Pay
Many incumbents protest the proposals for limiting the number of consecutive terms of public office by one individual. A prominent line of rebuttal seems to be that it takes almost one term to become acquainted with the office and duties.
In private industry, a trainee is paid less than an experienced employee. Perhaps it is time for a ballot initiative reducing the compensation for the first term of office during the training period.
