PREP BASKETBALL TODAY’S GAMES : Boys, Girls Champions to Be Crowned
Eight Southern California Regional high school basketball titles will be decided today, with the winners advancing to the State championship games next week.
The boys’ and girls’ Division II and III games will be played at the Sports Arena, with the first game at 9:30 a.m. Division IV and V games will be played at Cal State Dominguez Hills, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
In the boys’ Division II title game, defending Southern Regional champion Glendora (28-5), which won the Southern Section 4-AA Division title last week, will meet Artesia (27-2), the 4-A Division champion at 3:30 p.m. In the Division III matchup, Goleta Dos Pueblos (18-13) will play Anaheim Servite (19-11) at 11:30 a.m.
In the girls’ Division II game, Pasadena Muir (28-5) will meet San Diego Point Loma (29-3) at 1:30 p.m. The Division III final is a rematch of the Southern Section 3-AA Division final between Brea-Olinda (32-0) and Palos Verdes (29-5) at 9:30 a.m.
The four games at Cal State Dominguez Hills: Strathmore (24-2) vs. Rosamond (20-7) in the girls’ Division V game at 2:30 p.m.; Faith Baptist (21-10) vs. El Cajon Christian (18-11) in the boys’ Division V final at 4:30 p.m.; Santa Maria St. Joseph (27-3) vs. Tollhouse Sierra (27-1) in the girls’ Division IV final at 6:30 p.m., and Oxnard Santa Clara (26-0) vs. Santa Maria St. Joseph (22-7) in the boys’ Division IV final at 8:30 p.m.
