Tim Manning Heads County Selections for All-Star Game
Orange County high school players have been selected to play for the South team in the 39th Shrine All-Star football game July 28 in the Rose Bowl.
Heading the list of selections is defensive back Tim Manning, who was named The Times’ Orange County back of the year after leading Trabuco Hills to the Division VIII championship for the second consecutive season and setting a county career interception mark.
Los Alamitos quarterback Todd Gragnano, who finished third in career passing yardage behind Todd Marinovich and Bret Johnson, also was selected. Gragnano is joined by Los Alamitos teammate Hartwell Brown.
Three county offensive linemen--David Cuttrell of El Toro, Ryan Motherway of Mater Dei and Lawson Mollica of Edison--were selected. Linebacker Jerrott Willard of Corona del Mar and punter Andy Marone of Dana Hills also made the team.
The South team will be coached by Jim Barnett of Trabuco Hills and Ken Sutch of Paramount.
