OXNARD : Ocean View District Adopts Drug Policy
The Ocean View School District has approved a policy to help deal with alcohol and drug use among its students.
“The drug problem is out there, and we know it is out there,” said Ocean View Supt. Robert Allen. “Now we have policies in place allowing us to take action when it is needed.”
Last year, four students in the 2,500-student district were suspended for drug and alcohol use, Allen said.
The new policies, approved unanimously at a recent school board meeting, provide guidelines for drug-abuse education, assistance to recovering students and discipline of students found to be drug or alcohol abusers, Allen said.
