If a definition of Philistine includes the intellectual cheap shot, then Walter Mead’s review of “Megatrends 2000” (Book Review, Feb. 11) is Philistine.

Mead reproaches author John Naisbitt for not including the reunification of Germany as one of his “Megatrends.”

Come off it, Mr. Mead. Few, if any, were talking about such a reunion six months ago, even six weeks ago.
