Student Applications Climb 18% at Caltech
The number of students applying to enroll as 1990 undergraduates at Caltech has climbed 18% over the previous year.
Caltech’s applicant pool for the freshman class rose to 1,851 this year from 1,561 last year. The number of women applicants increased to 386 from last year’s 272 and the number of Latinos, blacks and American Indians to 129 from 74.
Caltech has an enrollment of 1,800 students, with more than half in graduate studies.
