Lakewood to Air Tape of Pioneers’ Game in Oakland
The city of Lakewood was so excited about its Artesia High School basketball team making it to the state championship game of the California Interscholastic Federation that the city sent a film crew to Oakland for the title game Saturday.
A videotape of the game will be televised on Lakewood’s cable Channel 31 today at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. It will be shown again on Monday and Tuesday at 6 p.m. and on Wednesday and Thursday at 9 a.m.
The Pioneers earned the right to play for the state championship by first winning the Suburban League and 4-AA Southern Section Championships, as well as the Division 11 Southern California Championship.
