Compton : Youth Art Exhibit at City Hall Headed for Capitol
Artwork by students in the Compton Unified School District adorns the hallways of City Hall this month and will be displayed in the halls of the state Capitol in Sacramento in May.
The artwork, which includes paintings, drawings, woodcuts, mosaics and weavings, was done by students in kindergarten through high school. At City Hall, the art display will last until April 24, when work by the district’s vocational students will go on display until April 30.
Vocational students will display three cars they built. The cars will be parked outside on the City Hall plaza. There also will be quilts, clothes and woodwork crafts.
In Sacramento, student artwork will be displayed in the third floor hallways of the Capitol Annex from April 30 to May 4.
