PREP ROUNDUP : McCauley, Jackson Spark Mater Dei to Track Victory

Tom McCauley ran a 2:01 to win the half-mile as Mater Dei High School defeated Servite, 70-57, in an Angelus League boys’ track and field meet Wednesday at Mater Dei.

Mater Dei’s Chris Jackson won the triple jump at 43-feet- 1/2. Servite’s Sam Chung won the 100 yards in 10.06.

In Angelus League girls’ track and field:

Mater Dei 98, Rosary 11--Laura Kennedy won the 100 in 11.9 for host Mater Dei.

In the Western States Golf Invitational:

Blake Alvan of Marina High School shot a two-round total of 10-over par 154 to finish fifth in the tournament played at Rancho Canada Country Club in Carmel Valley.
