SIDELINES : Gregg to Pick Own Successor
From Times Wire Services
DALLAS — Southern Methodist football coach Forrest Gregg will find himself charged with the unusual task of picking his own successor after the 1990 season.
Gregg became the school’s athletic director on Wednesday after Doug Single resigned to become president of Special Olympics International.
The 56-year-old Gregg will hold both jobs for only a year and will name his own replacement when the football season is over.
