Realtor Donates Part of Earnings to Homeless
Kathy Villa, a real estate agent with Asher Dann & Associates in Beverly Hills, has made a commitment to contribute 10% of her real estate sales commissions to the Los Angeles Mission toward construction of its homeless shelter on Skid Row.
The 296-bed, $11.5-million project is due to be completed within a year. Villa said she will donate the funds in the name of her clients.
She obtained a similar offer from George Korz with Crestview Financial in Beverly Hills, according to the Los Angeles Mission. Korz will contribute 10% of the commissions he makes on finding mortgage loans, Villa explained.
Villa would not say how much she expected to contribute to the mission or how much she earned in commissions last year.
