The 18th-seeded team of Brian Lewis, of Newport Beach, and Pono Maa, of Pacific Palisades, upset the second-seeded team of Mike Dodd, of Manhattan Beach, and Tim Hovland, of Playa del Rey, 15-13 in the Miller Lite Open volleyball tournament at Indianapolis. Lewis and Maa then lost to the seventh-seeded team of Scott Friederichsen, of Laguna Hills, and Larry Mear, of San Clemente.
