SHORT TAKES : Special Emmy for ABC Founder
ABC founder Leonard H. Goldenson will receive this year’s Governors Award by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, it was announced today.
Goldenson, now chairman of the executive committee for the network’s parent company, Capital Cities / ABC Inc., will receive his special Emmy during the telecast of the “42nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” on Sept. 16.
Recent recipients of the Governors Awards have been Lucille Ball, cartoon creators Bill Hannah and Joe Barbera, Grant Tinker, Red Skelton, Alistair Cooke, Johnny Carson and Walter Cronkite.
