Gunman Escapes With $15,000 in Rings, Gold Chains in La Habra
LA HABRA — A lone gunman who forced a saleswoman to lie on the floor robbed a jewelry store of about $15,000 worth of rings and gold chains during a midday holdup, police said Saturday.
Sgt. Jerry Cline said the man entered the Merida Jewelers at 501 W. La Habra Blvd. about 2 p.m. Friday and pointed a gun at the clerk. After forcing her down to the floor, the gunman stole a variety of men’s and women’s jewelry before fleeing out the back door, Cline said.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.
