ODDS ‘N’ SODS: Congrats to KROQ’s Richard...
ODDS ‘N’ SODS: Congrats to KROQ’s Richard Blade, who’s apparently the only deejay in town playing England’s World Cup soccer anthem, New Order’s “World in Motion,” which features a host of England’s soccer stars (including winger John Barnes) and has rocketed to No. 1 in the British singles charts. . . . L.A.’s country-music community is paying tribute to musician/talent booker Ronnie Mack, who’s been running the weekly Barn Dance shows for the past several years. The show, which runs from noon to 8 p.m. today at the Palomino Club, will feature James Intveld, Rosie Flores, the Mustangs, Jim Lauderdale, George Highfill, Lucinda Williams, Dave Alvin, the Trailer Park Casanovas and many more. . . . And if the recent Benson & Hedges Blues Fest whetted your appetite for good blues, take that appetite over to the Highland Grounds coffee house, which hosts a “Barbeque ‘n’ Blues” fete each Sunday, beginning at 8 p.m., with food and live blues jams till midnight.
