An El Cajon man was killed Wednesday night when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle and slid more than 500 feet along Greenfield Drive, a spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers discovered the body of Scott Brown, 27, shortly before midnight, CHP spokeswoman Pam Huntington said.
Brown was driving on Greenfield just west of Magnolia Avenue when he apparently struck a guardrail, slid across the pavement and struck a palm tree, Huntington said.
The exact cause of the accident was unknown, Huntington said.
