Whiskey Debate
Alert reader Peter Hume (Letters From Readers, July 15) is correct and the Los Angeles Times Stylebook is wrong. The label of our bottle of Glenfiddich bought in Scotland refers to its contents as whisky , and our bottle of Crested Ten (an admirable Irish whiskey preferred by my husband’s County Wexford cousin) is labeled with the Irish spelling of whiskey .
I’m surprised at this lapse since I thought every editor kept a bottle of Scotch whisky in the bottom drawer.
