AND HIGHER? Will worries about rising fuel prices raise the cost of flying to and from John Wayne Airport?. . . The answer is a definitive maybe. . . . On Thursday, USAir boosts its $29 tickets to and from the Bay Area to $34, but a spokeswoman says it has nothing to do with fuel prices, which the airline is “watching closely.” . . . American, John Wayne’s other major carrier, is looking at a fuel surcharge “very carefully” but won’t announce a decision until today. The good news: If surcharges are levied, they won’t be added to tickets already purchased, the airlines’ spokeswomen say.
