For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week: * Water newly planted citrus trees twice a week in normal summer weather; for mature trees with established root systems, water every 3-4 weeks.

* Don’t give up on watering and fertilizing your fruit trees after the harvest is over. The trees still need nutrients to produce a crop next year.

* Check your indoor plants to make sure that none are taking direct sun, especially in the southern exposure windows.

* For another cycle of blooms from fading summer annuals, prune them back and fertilize.
