IRVINE : OCTD Van Service to Spectrum Begins
Beginning today, commuters traveling between the Irvine Spectrum and Huntington Beach, Laguna Hills, or Santa Margarita Park can cruise to work in an Orange County Transit District mini-van.
The new routes are the result of requests for service to the Irvine business district, said district General Manager James Reichert.
Service is limited to peak commuting hours of 5:45 to 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 to 6:00 p.m. Vans will stop at the park-and-ride stations every 25 to 30 minutes with round trips lasting about 30 to 40 minutes.
Route 308 provides travel between the Laguna Hills and Irvine Transportation Centers. Vans will make connections to other routes at Bake/Rockfield, Irvine Boulevard/Parker, Alton/the Irvine Center and Laguna Hills/Moulton.
Route 309 begins at the Rancho Santa Margarita Park-and-Ride and makes stops at Trabuco/Alicia, Alton/Fairbanks and the Irvine Transportation Center.
One-way fares for Routes 308 and 309 are 90 cents with free transfers to connecting routes.
Starting at Center and Gothard in Huntington Beach, Route 311 will travel the San Diego Freeway, and will stop at South Coast Plaza’s Crystal Court Park-and-Ride and the Irvine Transportation Center before reaching Alton/Toledo.
Route 311 commuters between Huntington Beach and the Irvine Spectrum will pay a one-way fare of $1.80; the fare will be $1.35 from Costa Mesa. Connecting route transfers are also free.
