San Diego
A tank leaked hydrogen chloride gas for more than five hours in Cardiff-by-the-Sea Saturday morning.
San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies found the tank--similar to a welder’s oxygen tank--leaking the gas at 6 a.m. near a trash bin in the 1200 block of Birmingham Drive, said Sgt. Ron Morse.
The surrounding area was secured until the County Hazardous Materials response team cleared the material at 11:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
