An 18-year-old was fatally shot in the head and stomach early Saturday morning in Tierrasanta, police said.
Donnie Frank Fisher, of the 2800 block of Elm Tree Court in Spring Valley, died at 10:47 a.m. at Sharp Memorial Hospital from severe head injuries.
Police found Fisher after responding to reports of a burglary shortly after 2 a.m. in the 10800 block of Tierrasanta Blvd., they said.
When they went inside the residence, they found Fisher in a bedroom with gunshot wounds to his head and stomach that appeared to have been fired from a small caliber rifle.
Police said Ronald Joseph Martel, 48, was taken into custody for questioning.
