Arson Suspected in Bowling Alley Blaze
Garden Grove — A suspected arson fire, the second one in two weeks at Maple Lanes bowling alley, destroyed the structure early Saturday. No one was injured.
Fire Capt. Cameron Phillips said the blaze, which was reported about 2:30 a.m., raged through the interior of Maple Lanes at 10192 Garden Grove Blvd.
It took 40 firefighters almost one hour to bring the blaze under control. The loss was put at about $500,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. But police said the incident appears to be the second arson fire at the bowling alley this month. The first blaze started in almost the same place behind the building, police said.
