First Fidelity Awards Data System Contract: Electronic Data Systems Corp. won a 10-year contract valued at $450 million from First Fidelity Bancorp. of Lawrenceville, N.J., to integrate and manage its data center operations, the bank announced. Under the contract, Dallas-based EDS, a subsidiary of General Motors Corp., will convert various applications systems into a unified platform supporting common products across bank unit lines, manage the bank’s data center operations at a single site and offer jobs to all First Fidelity data center and technical staff.
