Compton : Council Spends $90,838 for Workers’ Comp. Insurance
The Compton City Council approved an overdue payment of $90,838 to its insurance broker, Humanomics Inc. of Granada Hills, for Workers’ Compensation and liability insurance.
Employers Reinsurance Co. was chosen as this year’s insurance carrier and will provide $10 million in Workers’ Compensation coverage and $1 million in employers’ liability coverage with a $275,000 deductible. Charles Evans, the city’s risk manager, called it an excellent policy.
The city reviews its insurance annually and the quotes it received from insurance companies did not come back until August, City Atty. Wesley Fenderson said. The insurance invoice was received by the city Aug. 21 and was payable in 10 days.
