Fire Scorches 3 Acres of Brush in Griffith Park
Three acres of brush were scorched Friday on the northern edge of Griffith Park, south of the Ventura Freeway.
About 30 firefighters on the ground and in three water-dropping helicopters battled for half an hour before extinguishing the flames near Forest Lawn and Zoo drives, said city Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells.
Cause of the fire, which broke out just before 4 p.m., had not been determined, Wells said. No homes were threatened and no one was injured.
