Mets Get Schatzeder From Astros
NEW YORK — The New York Mets acquired left-hander Dan Schatzeder from the Houston Astros Monday for minor leaguers Steve LaRose and Nick Davis.
Schatzeder, 35, is 1-3 this season with a 2.39 earned-run average in 45 games, all but two in relief. He is 69-68 in 13 major league seasons.
LaRose was 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA and seven saves at St. Lucie of the Florida State League and 1-3 with a 3.90 ERA in 19 games at Jackson of the Texas League. Davis batted .263 with six home runs and 48 runs batted in for Pittsfield of the New York-Penn Rookie League.
LaRose was assigned to Tucson of the Pacific Coast League, and Davis was assigned to Asheville, N.C., of the South Atlantic League.
