MILLIKAN WATER POLO TOURNAMENT : Capistrano Valley Wins Water Polo Title
Tournament most valuable player Kevin Eggert scored six goals to lead Capistrano Valley to a 13-7 victory over Miraleste in the championship match of the Millikan Tournament at Belmont Palza pool.
Eggert scored seven goals in a 14-7 semifinal victory over Dos Pueblos. He scored 27 goals in the five tournament matches for Capistrano Valley (6-0).
Capistrano Valley’s Dan Hancock, who scored four goals in each of the semifinal and final games and had 21 in tournament, was also named to the all-tournament team as was goalie Nick Kittredge and Stod Buckley.
In other tournament games:
Long Beach Wilson 14, Edison 13--Brian Melstrom scored six goals for Edison but the Chargers (3-2) lost in the tournament’s fifth-place match.
