THOUSAND OAKS : Man With Scissors Robs Drugstore
A man armed with eight-inch scissors robbed a Thousand Oaks drugstore Saturday night, and a 27-year-old transient was arrested a few blocks away, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Shawn O’Barr, described as a transient from the San Diego area, was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and was being held Sunday at the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, authorities said.
Sgt. Mike Kipp said the robber entered a Thrifty Drug Store on North Moorpark Road at 8:20 p.m. posing as a customer. He pulled out the scissors in front of a cashier and demanded cash, Kipp said.
The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
O’Barr was arrested nearby and was identified by witnesses as the thief, Kipp said.
The money and scissors were not recovered.
