Winfield, Harvey Named Top Angels
Outfielder Dave Winfield, who surpassed the 1,500-RBI level for his career, and reliever Bryan Harvey, who tied a club record for saves in a career, have been named co-Angels of the Week by The Times’ Orange County Edition.
Winfield was 11 for 28 (.393) with four home runs and 10 RBIs, raising his batting average to .263. He assumed the club lead in RBIs with 66 as he increased his career total to 1,504.
Harvey had three saves to raise his career total to 65, matching the club record set by Dave LaRoche. Harvey has 23 saves this season and a 2.10 earned-run average.
A check for $250 in Winfield and Harvey’s names will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Orange County.
