Chrysler Predicts Gains: Chrysler Corp., struggling with declining sales, lower market share and a host of other ills, may be on the mend, Bennett E. Bidwell, chairman of Chrysler’s automotive subsidiary, said. He said he expects the company’s share of the U.S. car market to rise in the fourth quarter to about 10.5% from 8.9% so far this year. He told reporters at a news conference to unveil new models that the gains will come from anticipated strong sales of compact cars and renewed fleet sales to rental companies.
