Local News in Brief : Patrol Car Strikes Toddler at Reservoir
A21-month-old boy was struck Sunday by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department car patrolling near the Pyramid reservoir, authorities said.
The child, whose name and hometown were not immediately available, suffered a scraped left arm and shoulder in the 1:45 p.m. accident, Lt. Don Rodriguez said. The baby was taken by helicopter to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, officials said.
The deputy was traveling along an access road toward the swimming area of the reservoir when his car struck the child, Rodriguez said. The cause of the accident was being investigated.
