Praise for Police Supporter Hooper
Local politics, and particularly City Council meetings, will never be the same. John Hooper, a community activist and strong police supporter, has passed away.
I came to know Mr. Hooper soon after I arrived in Long Beach over three years ago. He was a friend and ally who was always candid in sharing his views. Mr. Hooper was a warm, sincere community leader who cared about Long Beach and its citizens. His mission was to clearly communicate his position in a quiet and gentlemanly manner. His focus was always on betterment of the community.
I, and many of my colleagues will miss him, for the community and the Police Department has lost a staunch supporter and a truly honorable man.
