Man Stabbed to Death in Apparent Love Triangle
A 52-year-old man was stabbed to death this week following a dispute with his girlfriend’s former boyfriend in the unincorporated Florence district, authorities said.
The victim, who was identified as Glen Youngblood of Los Angeles, was visiting his girlfriend at her home in the 1200 block of Nadeau Street when the woman’s former boyfriend arrived shortly after 7 p.m. and the three began to argue, sheriff’s Sgt. George Carroll said.
“The suspect then produced a knife and attacked the victim, chasing him from room to room, slashing and stabbing him,” Deputy Rich Erickson said.
The attacker chased the victim into a vacant field, then fled after the victim collapsed.
Neighbors saw the attack and called the Fire Department. The victim was taken to Martin Luther King, Jr./Drew Medical Center, where he died.
The woman was unharmed. Authorities declined to name the suspect.
“The motive appears to be jealousy,” Erickson said.
