Nonna E. Brooks; Legal Secretary
Nonna E. Brooks, a legal secretary who worked for law firms in the San Fernando Valley, has died at her Northridge home. She was 52.
Mrs. Brooks died Oct. 10 after suffering a stroke, said her daughter, Cynthia Brooks.
Born Nonna E. Reed on Nov. 25, 1937, in Tulsa, Okla., she came to California in the mid-1960s. Mrs. Brooks worked as a legal secretary for 20 years at local law firms and for Litton Industries Inc. in Beverly Hills. She later worked in the office of her husband’s electrical contracting business. She attended the Church on the Way in Van Nuys.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Robert Brooks; a son, Robert Andrew Brooks of Northridge; two daughters, Cynthia Brooks of Northridge and Kelly Lewis of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a brother, Russell Reed of Forest Grove, Ore.; and one granddaughter.
Visitation is planned from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. today, with the funeral and burial to follow, at Chapel of the Oaks at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St. in Chatsworth. Reardon Simi Valley Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
