PRO FOOTBALL REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Saints’ Hilliard Suffers Knee Injury
Running back Dalton Hilliard of the New Orleans Saints suffered a torn ligament in his right knee late in Sunday’s loss to Houston and will be sidelined for at least this week’s game against Detroit, Coach Jim Mora said.
The early diagnosis indicated Hilliard will recover without surgery and will not be sidelined long enough to warrant being placed on injured reserve, Mora said. Rueben Mayes probably will start against Detroit in Hilliard’s place, Mora said.
Starting center Grant Feasel of the Seattle Seahawks underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after being injured in Sunday’s victory over Kansas City, Coach Chuck Knox said.
Knox said that because the Seahawks have an off-week, they hope to have Feasel in the starting lineup Nov. 4 against the San Diego Chargers in the Kingdome.
