Goaltender Ron Hextall, who missed all but eight games for the Philadelphia Flyers last season, will be sidelined for two to three weeks after suffering a mild sprain of a knee ligament in Saturday’s 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders.
Hextall was playing his first game since Oct. 11, when he suffered a pulled groin muscle in a game against the New Jersey Devils. Last season, Hextall missed 51 games because of a suspension, three groin muscle injuries and a pulled hamstring.
