ROUNDUP : Thousand Oaks Rolls to 5th League Title

Led by Kaili Kimura with a team-high eight kills, Thousand Oaks High clinched the Marmonte League girls’ volleyball title with a 15-4, 15-1, 15-11 victory over host Camarillo on Tuesday night.

Erikka Gulbranson had six kills and eight digs for the Lancers, who have won or shared five league titles in Ron Beick’s five years as coach.

Thousand Oaks (16-3, 11-0 in league play) is ranked fifth in the Southern Section 5-A Division poll and 10th in the state.

In other volleyball matches:

Royal d. Agoura 15-9, 15-4, 15-11--Wende Brown had 16 kills and Jennifer Hamilton added 13 for Royal (13-2, 11-2), which secured second place in the Marmonte standings with the win at home.

Notre Dame d. Alemany, 16-14, 15-6, 15-4--Mary Strong had 11 kills and Phyliss Francis added 10 for Notre Dame (12-3, 8-1) in a Mission League match at Alemany.

The victory clinched at least a share of the league title for Notre Dame, ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section 4-A.

El Camino Real d. Cleveland, 15-5, 15-7, 15-7--Jennifer Dinaberg had eight kills and Jessica Dinaberg added seven for El Camino Real (12-0, 9-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Cleveland.

L. A. Baptist d. Marshall Fundamental, 15-6, 15-1, 15-7--Monica Davis had eight kills for L. A. Baptist (14-1, 8-1) in an Alpha League match at home.

Moorpark 7, Oxnard 0--Sergio Pizano scored two goals to lead the Raiders (14-0, 9-0) to a Western State Conference win at home.

Tony Blat, Shaun Christensen, Billy Kranz, Richie Rungaitis and Jeff Spach each scored once for Moorpark, which is ranked sixth in the state.

Angelo Maccano and Mike Zemansky combined on the shutout in goal.
