Brush Fire Chars 25 Acres in San Rafael Hills
A wind-driven brush fire charred about 25 acres in the San Rafael Hills along the Glendale-Pasadena border Friday afternoon, but no structures were damaged, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported, and the cause was under investigation, Deputy Pasadena Fire Chief Don Hughes said.
He said the blaze was reported just after noon near the Art Center College of Design on Lida Street in Pasadena, just northwest of the Rose Bowl. The blaze moved over a hill toward Glendale before it was contained about 1:20 p.m. About 110 firefighters and two helicopters battled the blaze, Hughes said.
