THE SIDELINES : Legless Man to Advise Packers
From Times Wire Services
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Bob Wieland, a legless Vietnam veteran who delivered motivational talks to the Green Bay Packers before their last two games, has been named strength and conditioning consultant to the team.
Packers Coach Lindy Infante credited Wieland’s talk with helping to inspire the team in a 29-16 victory over the Los Angeles Raiders on Nov. 11. Last Sunday, Wieland again talked to the team and watched from the sidelines as the Packers beat Phoenix 24-21.
