Railroad to El Centro

I wish the builders of the renewed rail line to El Centro the best of luck (“S.D. Railroad Back on Right Track,” Nov. 13). I hope they can extend the line to a passenger ride. Think of it: a ride through the desert, mountains and Mexico. Take a picnic lunch to enjoy or plan a two-day trip with stops in Mexico and the hot springs at Jacumba. NORMAN E. WOLLITZ, El Cajon
