The Sidelines : 4 Schools in Realignment Survey
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A survey that should help decide a football alignment involving four Big East schools will be discussed at a league meeting within two weeks, Commissioner Mike Tranghese said today.
Representatives from Boston College, Miami, Pittsburgh and Syracuse as well as Tranghese will vote on which teams to add to a football-only conference.
“When we meet, our people will have all the information they need to make a decision,” Tranghese said. “I’m not sure if they’ll vote then.”
The Big East began considering football when Miami joined it earlier this autumn in other sports. The four schools currently are independents in football.
