Misfortune Befalls Daytime ‘Wheel’
The daytime version of “Wheel of Fortune” has been canceled by CBS to make room for “Barbara DeAngelis,” a half-hour talk series examining relationship questions posed by members of a studio audience.
“Wheel of Fortune” will have its last broadcast on CBS Jan. 11. “Barbara DeAngelis” will debut Jan. 14 at 9 a.m. on the West Coast. “Family Feud,” which currently airs in that time slot, will move to 10:30 a.m. weekdays. The nighttime version will continue in syndication.
DeAngelis is an L.A.-based psychologist who moderates a call-in show on KFI-AM (640). She spent a year at KABC-TV Channel 7 and appeared for two years as CNN’s “Newsnight” therapist.
