18 Vie Tonight in Champion Trials

Eighteen 3-year-olds and older quarter horses will vie for four open spots in the $250,000 Champion of Champions tonight in two trial divisions at Los Alamitos. Each trial will offer a purse of $30,000 and will be run as the ninth and 10th races on the 13-race program beginning at 7:25. The four fastest qualifiers from the 440-yard trials will advance to the Dec. 15 event over the same distance.
