COUNTYWIDE : Reward Offered in Triple Slaying Puzzle
The owner of a Santa Ana apartment complex where a triple homicide occurred 2 1/2 months ago has offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer, police said Friday.
Police said the owner has requested anonymity.
The shooting occurred Oct. 30 as the victims, two young men and a 16-year-old boy, were standing next to a pay telephone in the courtyard area of Fairview Villas, a large complex at 811 S. Fairview St.
The gunman had approached them from a walkway in the complex and immediately drew a semiautomatic pistol and began firing.
According to witnesses and police, the gunman first shot Mario David Mora, 23, in the forehead, then shot Noel Herrera Arroyo, 20. Angel Brito Guadarrama, 16, turned to run, but the gunman shot him three times in the chest. They died at the scene.
A fourth man standing nearby, Miguel Angel Toledo Soto, 22, of Santa Ana, was also critically wounded.
Anyone with information has been asked to call Santa Ana police investigators Phil Lozano or Benny Rodriguez at (714) 647-5169 during weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or (714) 834-4802 on weekends and evenings.
