The Sidelines : Whittier Names Football Coach
Kenneth Visser was appointed Whittier College’s head football coach today, succeeding Don Uyeshima, the interim head coach during the 1990 season.
Visser comes to Whittier after being an assistant at Cal State Long Beach since 1979. From 1981-90, he was the defensive coordinator for the 49ers as well as the linebacker coach. He was also the 49ers’ assistant head coach since 1987.
Visser, a graduate of Occidental College in 1967, will assume his new job in January. He also will teach in the physical education department.
