IRVINE : Youth Class Teaches the Basics of Singing
An eight-week course designed to teach youngsters the basics of singing will be offered next month by the city’s Community Services Department.
The class will meet at University Community Park on Wednesday afternoons beginning Jan. 30. The $15 course will teach breathing techniques, scales, two-part harmony and memorization. The class, for children ages 8 through 14, will end with a final performance March 20.
The program is intended to promote an interest in music and to help decrease performance anxiety. The class will meet from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
