THOUSAND OAKS : Teen-Ager Wounds Himself While Cleaning Pistol
A Thousand Oaks teen-ager accidentally shot himself Tuesday while cleaning a pistol, authorities said.
Bryan J. Cannon, 18, was in good condition at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Cannon was in a bedroom of his residence in the 1100 block of Calle Yucca about 1 a.m. cleaning a .22-caliber pistol when he ran some live rounds through the weapon, Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Montijo said.
He then accidentally pulled the trigger and shot himself in the left thigh, Montijo said. He was taken to the hospital by his father, authorities said.
